Hi, I'm Kali (Kay-lee)
Even if you have been to therapy before starting can be overwhelming. It can be nerve-racking to be vulnerable and open with someone new. I believe finding the right therapist is like starting any other relationship, it's important to feel that human connection!
I take a strength-based, person-centered approach when working with individuals. I understand that people often seek therapy because something is getting in the way. I believe exploring the strengths and capabilities that got you this far is just as important as exploring the barriers.
It is important to know that you are the guide in this process; pacing is critical. With this in mind we will work to expand your comfort zone and embrace a growth mindset. I believe that effective therapy addresses barriers at the personal, social, and systemic level. My approach recognizes your unique capacity to address these barriers and focuses on strengthening your available support systems.
I find joy in working with individuals to promote insight into their self-talk, feelings, and behavior. I believe this insight can shift self-perception, empower, and strengthen your capacity to thrive, learn, and grow. I have extensive experience working with trauma survivors. Prior to becoming a mental health clinician, I practiced massage therapy. I enjoy incorporating somatic work, movement, and mindfulness into my practice.
I have 7 years of experience as a mental health clinician. I am a fully licensed Master's Level Social Worker. I earned my MSW from Western Michigan University. I specialize in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, coping skills, stress, and life transitions. I provide racially and culturally sensitive therapy and have experience with working with individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community.
