THRIVE. In this life, you were not meant for the ordinary. You were not meant to simply survive each day…you were meant to thrive. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I am committed to walking beside you as you focus on what is most important to you. My goal is to help you discover how to live life to the fullest! I have over twenty years of experience providing services to children, adolescents, and families across a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, conflict management, low self-image, divorce, and behavioral issues.
I work from a client-centered perspective. I believe that relationship is very significant to the counseling process and I work hard to make my clients feel cared for and valued. I utilize a unique focus for each client that I encounter because each person is an individual with unique needs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Play Therapy, and Art Therapy are a few of the many approaches that I have utilized when meeting the needs of those I serve.
I completed my graduate studies in counseling from Oakland University in Rochester Hills, MI and earned a doctorate from Columbia International University in Columbia, SC. In addition to these degrees, I have earned a master's degree in Educational Ministry from Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, MI. As part of my graduate work, I had the opportunity to counsel women challenged by post-partum depression through the Beaumont Hospital system in the Detroit area. I am also an active member of the Association for Play Therapy. I have received extensive training in telehealth and therapy for anxiety in children through certification courses offered by PESI.
Within a supportive therapeutic environment, I hope that I will help you to discover a renewed perspective on life and greater joy. Prepare the way for something new!
