Life can feel like a struggle, a challenge you are merely surviving. Becoming easily overwhelmed, being stuck in a negative cycle, punishing yourself using negative self-talk, and experiencing beliefs that you do not deserve anything different. Each person has a unique story and experience. It is a privilege to hear a person’s story and to work together to cultivate a life worth living. I believe that you want your life to improve and that you are doing the best you can with the tools you have.
I am passionate about working with adults who are having difficulty coping with their own mental health symptoms and with the overwhelming demands of life. I specialize in depression, anxiety, coping skill development, boundaries work, and mindfulness. My therapeutic approaches include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Systems Theory, Gestalt, Narrative Approach, and a strengths-based perspective. I am a limited license Master of Clinical Social Work and have 6 years of experience working in the clinical mental health field.
My therapeutic process aims to increase mindfulness, develop positive self-care habits, build self-esteem, establish healthy personal boundaries, and generate a deeper understanding of oneself. While you have not caused all of your problems, developing awareness of how you contributed to them and improving your ability to respond effectively is a benefit of the therapeutic process. Each person experiences mental health. Be proud of yourself for making the active choice to improve yours.
You deserve a life you thrive in, and I want to support you in this process. Please give Great Lakes Psychology Group a call at (800) 693-1916 to schedule an intake appointment. I look forward to meeting you.
